Intensive Outpatient Program
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides intensive psychiatric and psychological services to patients 18 or older who find it difficult to function in their community environment. The program provides intensive individual, family and group therapies on an ambulatory basis while maintaining the patient within his or her social support system.
The program focuses on preventing a decline in functioning and symptom reduction, as well as eliminating the need for more restrictive treatment (such as residential, inpatient or partial hospitalization). The program also offers these services as ongoing support following an individual’s discharge from hospitalization, partial hospitalization or residential care. The program focuses on helping patients achieve a feeling of safety which will empower them to develop dignity and build character and allow them to transform dysfunctional behaviors into skills for positive daily functioning.
